This little taiwanese restaurant is nestled behind the Pyrmont Point Hotel on the corner of Harris and John st. It has a funky little courtyard, and if you were casually walking by, you could easily miss it.
Food Blogging didn't start too well. I'd left the camera in the car, so I dashed back out and back in again so I could take a photo of.... the lovely laminated menu.
The decor was reasonably clean and modern. I wouldn't throw it into the fancy basket by a long shot, but it wasn't cramped or run like a market - something that you may find in some chinatown stores.
Steamed Chive Dumplings (6)- $7
These were quite nice, compared to their Bok Choy counterparts.
Pan fried chive dumplings - $8
Again, another winner.
Steam Bok Choy dumplings - $8
Pork fried rice - $11
This was the 'meat' of the meal - the part that was supposed to fill us up.
Wonton soup - $6.50
Having just had my wisdom teeth taken out last week, I was relegated to eating soft foods, and this was my meal.
Beef Noodle Dry - $8
The fried rice just didn't quite fill us up, so we ordered a bit more.
Salt and Pepper squid - $4.50
Not really the best around, but a snack nonetheless. Unfortunately, it came out almost as we finished our mains rather than as an entree.
My left over broccoli. I really like broccoli. It's one of the few vegetables that I actually enjoy. And I had to leave it inside the bowl because I wasn't able to eat it (wisdom teeth, remember??). Ouch.
Deep fried ice cream (forgot how much).
It wasn't fantastic. The batter was too soft, and the ice cream itself, well, it passed. If you look closely at the picture, I'd lost all self control and had started eating it before I took a photo ;-)
The bill turned out to be about $82 including drinks.
In all, my colleagues agreed that it probably wasn't the best dumpling place in Sydney. I found the food just satisfactory, and really, if you're a bit lazy and in this part of town, sure, stop by. It's definitely not bad, especially if you can't be bothered to walk all the way to chinatown :)
